A community built by reverts, for reverts
At Bristol Revert Network, we provide a welcoming, safe, and supportive community for reverts to Islam at every stage of their journey. Whether you have recently embraced Islam or have been a Muslim for many years, our aim is to help you build meaningful connections, access authentic knowledge, and feel a true sense of belonging.
Although we are based in Bristol, we also support reverts from surrounding towns and areas where dedicated revert communities may not be available, including Gloucestershire, Weston-super-Mare, Yate, Dursley, Stroud, Taunton, Trowbridge, Chepstow, and neighbouring communities.
From informal socials to a growing network
Bristol Revert Network is an organisation founded in 2023 by a group of sisters to support the growing revert community in Bristol. What began as informal socials for revert sisters has since evolved into a vibrant initiative.
We now host monthly socials and sisters’ circles with engaging, beginner-friendly workshops, tailored to meet attendees at their level. In addition, we’ve introduced a monthly brothers’ social circle, held at Greenbank Masjid, to provide further support and connection opportunities.
A safe, inclusive space for every journey
Our mission is to warmly welcome reverts living in Bristol and the South West by offering compassionate support, guidance, and a safe, inclusive space regardless of background. Through meaningful connections, engaging educational workshops, social gatherings, and a befriending ‘buddy’ programme, we aim to foster a strong sense of belonging, empowerment, and community.
We are here to support reverts on their journey through Islam, regardless of background, ethnicity, or ability - we believe in kindness, respect, and compassion as the core values of our community.
Ways to connect, learn and belong
Monthly Revert Socials
We host regular monthly socials for both brothers and sisters, usually on the second Sunday of each month at Greenbank Masjid, Bristol.
These gatherings provide a relaxed and welcoming environment where reverts can meet new people, enjoy food and refreshments, build lasting friendships, and benefit from Islamic knowledge delivered by trusted speakers and community members.
Sisters' Monthly Social
- Time: 9:30am – 12:30pm
- Typically includes a beginner friendly interactive workshop covering practical and beneficial topics
- Occasionally includes dinner and picnic events
Brothers' Monthly Social
- Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm

WhatsApp Community
Our growing WhatsApp Community keeps members connected beyond our monthly events.
It provides a welcoming space to:
- Build friendships and a strong sense of community
- Ask questions in a supportive environment
- Learn from fellow reverts and experienced Muslims
- Receive reminders about upcoming events and important Islamic dates
- Share beneficial resources, book recommendations and practical advice
No question is too small, and everyone is encouraged to seek support whenever they need it.

One-to-One Buddy Scheme
Our Buddy Scheme is an optional programme designed to reduce isolation and help new and existing reverts feel supported throughout their journey.
Participants are matched with an experienced revert or born Muslim for friendship, guidance and encouragement. Every pairing is overseen by a trusted member of our wellbeing or social support team to ensure ongoing care and support.
The programme has helped many members:
- Feel less isolated
- Improve their wellbeing and confidence
- Build meaningful friendships
- Develop a stronger connection with the Muslim community
Many participants have gone on to become mentors themselves, helping support future reverts.

These partnerships enable us to connect members with a wider range of educational, social and spiritual opportunities throughout the South West.
Conferences & Special Events
We occasionally organise special events throughout the year to bring the community together.
Most recently, we hosted the South West Sisters' Revert Conference, themed "From Shahadah to Strength: Navigating Your Journey."
The event featured inspiring talks from:
- Sister Aliyah Umm Raiyaan, Founder of Solace
- Sister Battol At-Roma, Trustee of the Convert Muslim Foundation
This conference was generously funded by Convert Care.
We also organise family-friendly gatherings throughout the year, including Eid meals, community dinners and summer picnics at halal-friendly venues. Many of these events have been generously supported by New Muslim Care.
